A thiol reactive fluorescent probe for the labelling of proteins. Rhodamine dyes are used extensively in various aspects of fluorescence microscopy because of their brightness and resistance to photobleaching. They are valuable in studies directed at probing changes in orientation and mobility of proteins using fluorescence anisotropy measurements. It is a mixture of the 6-Iodo and 6-chloro.
