Oil red IV, Practical grade is a reddish dark brown powder, a dye used for Sudan staining. Also used in some compositions of red colored smokes and for making dyes.
Wear respiratory protection. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
Insoluble in water. Soluble in chloroform, oils, fats, paraffin and phenol.Slightly soluble in acetone,alcohol and benzene .
